The play consists of three metaphorical gesture poems based on one topic: love. In the beginning two adult bodies, apparently human, side by side, sitting on two chairs, remain there, in the empty stage, for several weeks.

Day after day, in our rehearsal room, in silence, in face of those two characters. Something invisible, mysterious and poetic had been hiding.

After weeks contemplating both marionettes, we get on stage, without knowing what we would do. We found out that the mysterious part was the fact that there weren’t only two characters on stage, but many: Louise, the mother, the man, Kalsun, the woman…

Thus arose Screams, from two marionettes which for « Love », topic of our stage show, donated parts of their bodies, multiplying in order to deliver 3 gesture poems.

Dos à Deux Company

Artur Luanda Ribeiro and André Curti are the artistic directors of Dos à Deux Company. They have dual training as actors and dancers and conduct together artistic research on gesture theater. They created the company in 1998 and form their desires to this day 11 plays have been created, more than 1800 performances in over 50 countries. They have spent more than two decades living in France, and in 2015, both artists wished to return to their homeland to open a space of creation for the Company and also a cultural place dedicated to the performing arts and artistic residencies in the city of Rio de Janeiro.
